Frequently Asked Questions

The sign panel is the reflective face carrying the sign's legend — regulatory, warning, or guide information. The sign post (or larger structure) is the support that holds the panel at the correct height and orientation. We supply and install both.

Yes. We coordinate panel fabrication with the applicable state DOT or turnpike authority specification for sheeting grade, legend layout, panel size, and mounting hardware.

A cantilever structure uses a single column with a horizontal arm extending over the travel lanes. A full-span structure has columns on both sides of the roadway connected by a truss or tube spanning the entire width, used for wider roadways and heavier sign loads.

Yes. We can perform structural inspections and support rehabilitation work including re-galvanizing, bolt replacement, and anchor bolt repair for existing sign structures.

A breakaway sign post uses a base mechanism — slip-base or frangible coupling — that allows the post to shear or release when struck by a vehicle, reducing injury severity. Breakaway posts are required within the clear zone on highways.

Yes. Our standard scope for sign replacement projects includes old post removal, disposal, new post installation, and sign panel transfer to the new post.

No. We install the structural, civil, and electrical infrastructure — sign structures, foundations, conduit, and cabinets. The electronic VMS units, controllers, and software are provided and installed by an ITS integrator, and we coordinate closely with them.

VMS units typically communicate with the agency traffic management center via fiber optic cable, cellular modem, or dedicated copper lines. We install the conduit, pull boxes, and cables from the roadside equipment cabinet to the nearest communication tie-in point.
