About Road Safety Systems
Road Safety Systems provides guiderail, bridge railing, highway barriers, signage, fencing, and solar structural supports across New York and the broader Mid-Atlantic, operating under the RoadGuard name.
Our Story
Road Safety Systems was established as its own independent highway safety infrastructure company. RoadGuard acquired Road Safety Systems and, around the same time, also acquired Mohegan Associates — merging Mohegan's operations into Road Safety Systems. Today we operate under the RoadGuard name, carrying forward that combined team and experience across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and the broader Mid-Atlantic and Connecticut region.
Our work: guiderail, bridge railing, highway barriers, highway signage, fencing, and — new to our lineup — solar structural supports for solar energy field installations. We share an office with our parent company, RoadGuard, in Folsom, New Jersey.
Our mission is straightforward: deliver highway safety infrastructure projects on schedule and to specification for the state DOTs, turnpike authorities, general contractors, and property owners we work with across New York and the broader Mid-Atlantic.
We haven't published a specific founding date for Road Safety Systems, and we'd rather be straightforward about that than invent a number. What we can point to is the work itself: real experience on PennDOT highway guide rail projects, New Jersey Turnpike signage work, Delaware bridge railing projects, and solar infrastructure support installations across New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. That project history, not a marketing timeline, is what we'd ask a prospective client to judge us on.

The RoadGuard Family
Road Safety Systems operates under RoadGuard. Mohegan Associates, also acquired by RoadGuard around the same time, was merged into Road Safety Systems. As a single-brand company under the RoadGuard name — rather than a multi-division holding company — our focus stays on one thing: highway safety infrastructure across New York and the broader Mid-Atlantic.
We serve New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and the broader Mid-Atlantic and Connecticut region from our shared office with RoadGuard in Folsom, New Jersey, working with state DOTs, turnpike authorities, general contractors, and property owners on guiderail, bridge railing, highway barriers, highway signage, fencing, and solar structural support projects.
Sharing an office and back-office resources with RoadGuard gives our crews access to established administrative, safety, and operational support without the complexity of a multi-division holding-company structure. Our certifications and insurance details specific to Road Safety Systems have not been finalized for publication at this time — contact us directly if you need to confirm current status for a specific project or bid requirement.
Road Safety Systems and ML Ruberton Construction joined forces under the RoadGuard family of brands and work out of the same Folsom, New Jersey office. We've kept both names because customers and agencies already know and trust them individually — RSS for highway guiderail, barriers, and signage; ML Ruberton Construction for bridge railing, fencing, and in-house fabrication.

What We Do
Road Safety Systems provides six core services: guiderail (W-beam, box beam, high-tension cable barrier, impact attenuators, and timber rail), bridge railing (bridge rail, tubular thrie beam, and retrofit work), highway barriers (bollards, cable barriers, concrete barriers, safety barriers, and temporary work zone barriers), highway signage (sign panels, sign structures, traffic sign posts, and variable message sign infrastructure), fencing (wildlife exclusion, chain link, and high-security fencing), and solar structural supports (foundations, mounting systems, and structural components for solar field installations).
Highway Barriers and Solar Structural Supports in particular set us apart from many fencing- and guiderail-only contractors in our region — the same structural installation discipline we bring to roadside safety hardware applies directly to barrier systems and to the foundations and racking that support solar energy infrastructure. Rather than treating these as unrelated sidelines, we see them as a natural extension of the same crews, equipment, and quality-documentation approach we use on every highway project.
Regardless of which service is involved, our approach stays consistent: review the project plans and applicable agency specifications, coordinate with the project engineer or general contractor before materials arrive on site, install to specification with experienced crews, and document the work with photos and as-built records suitable for DOT, turnpike authority, or private client acceptance.
